Specialties: Children, Adolescents, Adults; Depression, Anxiety, Autism, Disabilities, Trauma, Resilience, and Expressive Art in Therapy.
Education: Master of Social Work, Utah Valley University, 2019 Clinical Internship Experience: I worked with variety of students in grades K-12 in Alpine School District during the 2017-2018 school year. In 2018-2019 I interned as a therapist with ScenicView Academy which is a residential treatment program that helps individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Learning Disabilities become independent.
Therapeutic Approach: I believe people are amazing! Therapy helps people identify and utilize their strengths as a way to work through challenges. As clients learn to be self-compassionate and challenge unhelpful thoughts, they are equipped to handle obstacles hindering desired growth.
Many people live with pain and suffering that can be seen or hidden from others. Therapy provides an opportunity to share personal stories to gain clarity, acceptance, and motivation to change. I understand the daily courage it takes to survive in difficult circumstances. Therapy provides the tools to help people move beyond simply surviving to start thriving. I like to use CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), Resilience Training, and art in therapy. I strive to help clients to meet their individual needs for emotional calmness, and improve self-competence, and connection. Working with parents and children as they overcome difficulties and strengthen their relationship and trust with one another is a joy.
About Me: I was born in Germany and lived there as a child. I have visited Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland, France, Luxemborg, Belgium, Austria, Mexico, Canada, and more than half of the states in the US. I have also lived in Texas, Washington, and Utah. I appreciate people from all walks of life and the uniqueness they bring to this world. That is why I studied Humanities for my undergraduate degree, but I found my true passion in graduate school through helping individuals, couples, and families flourish. I still travel, when I can, so that I can know more about people, their customs, art, and their history.
I am a happy wife and mother who loves to run. Additionally, I enjoy baking, laughing with friends and family, being outside in the sunshine, and learning. I try to practice mindfulness, acts of self-care, and creating true connection with others in my personal life. I hope to meet you soon.
