Specialties: Children, Adolescents, Adults. Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, Life Transitions, Relationships, Mindfulness.
Education: Masters of Social Work, Utah Valley University, 2020. Bachelors of Social Work, Utah Valley University, 2019.
Work Experience: Before pursuing a Master’s in social work, I spent time teaching anger management classes and drug and alcohol prevention courses to adolescents. I worked in a school social work environment, and most recently worked at the Children’s Justice Center with children, teens and adults seeking treatment for sexual abuse and domestic violence.
Therapeutic Approach: I believe that therapy is a resource and experience everyone should have the opportunity to participate in if they can. Therapy offers a safe space to be heard and understood, as well as an opportunity for expressing oneself freely. Through therapy, individuals have the opportunity to become more self-aware and learn productive and healthy coping skills to better help themselves navigate life stressors.
I like to use several different therapeutic approaches depending on the person’s needs and what will benefit them the most. CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), TF-CBT (trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy), ERP (Exposure & Response Prevention), strengths based therapy and mindfulness are all modalities I utilize to help those I work with achieve their respective treatment goals, and improve personal well-being. I strive to help my clients feel heard, understood, develop better self-awareness and coping skills, and achieve their goals.
Personal: I was born and raised in Utah and love spending time with family and friends, playing games and watching movies. I enjoy being outdoors, camping, hiking, and kayaking with husband and dog. We love to camp in the Mirror Lake area as well as Stanley, Idaho. I enjoy traveling and have spent time in many different countries. My favorites have been Thailand, Peru and Spain. I spent time volunteering in Peru and India and love the people there! I love to read many different genres and cook as well.
