Melinda is passionate about supporting individuals across all stages of life. With experience working with children, teens, and adults, she has had the opportunity to work together with clients in a variety of settings, including residential treatment and outpatient clinics. During her time as a Clinical Social Work Intern, Melinda provided child-centered play therapy for children ages 3-8 and worked with teens and adults who had experienced various types of traumas. Prior to her work at CHATS, Melinda also worked at Family Services, where she worked with teens and adults navigating challenges such as anxiety, depression, grief, mission transitions, and pornography use.
Therapeutic Approach:
Melinda believes in the power of collaboration and views each client as the expert in their own life. She enjoys working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and takes a holistic approach to therapy, incorporating evidence-based practices such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mind-Body Bridging, Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). Melinda’s goal is to help her clients heal, grow, and find balance, all while fostering a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where they feel supported on their journey.
