Ashley Halverson, CSW, Certified Social Worker

Specialties: Children, Adolescents, Young Adults; Anxiety, OCD, Depression, Trauma, Substance Use Disorders, Life Transitions, Emotional Regulation, Self-Esteem, Co-Occurring Mental Health Disorders.

Education: Master of Social Work

Experience: Ashley is passionate about supporting children, adolescents, and young adults as they navigate life’s challenges, build confidence, and move toward meaningful healing and growth. Prior to her clinical work and training at our clinic, Ashley worked in both substance-use treatment and school-based mental health settings. During her internship with Nebo School District, she worked with adolescents experiencing anxiety, depression, behavioral challenges, family stressors, and crisis situations. She has experience conducting risk assessments, safety planning, and collaborating with families to support emotional well-being. In her work at Building Beginnings, a substance-use treatment center, she conducted client needs assessments, developed individualized treatment plans, and provided therapeutic support to individuals experiencing substance use concerns and co-occurring mental health disorders.

Therapeutic Approach: Ashley believes that healing happens through connection, understanding, and feeling genuinely supported. Her hope is to create a space where clients feel comfortable showing up exactly as they are, knowing they will be met with compassion, curiosity, and respect. Ashley utilizes evidence-based practices to this end. She enjoys helping clients recognize their strengths, make sense of difficult experiences, and develop skills that help them feel more confident in navigating life’s challenges. Whether someone is working through anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use concerns, or a major life transition, she strives to meet them where they are and walk alongside them in the process. She incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Motivational Interviewing (MI), mindfulness-based approaches, and trauma-informed care to help clients work toward meaningful and lasting change.

A little about Ashley: When she is not working with clients, Ashley can usually be found spending time with her husband, making memories with her niece and nephew, baking a sourdough loaf, or curled up with a good book. She also enjoys learning about her Japanese heritage, which has deepened her appreciation for family, culture, and the unique experiences that shape each person’s story.
